Digital Transformation Hub: Advancing Digital Heritage Transformation within HI-EURECA-PRO
HI-EURECA-PRO is a Horizon Europe project developed within the EURECA-PRO Alliance to strengthen research excellence, knowledge valorisation and regional innovation through heritage-based innovation. The project brings together researchers and university partners from across the Alliance to develop practical and sustainable approaches to the protection, transformation and innovative use of cultural, industrial and mining heritage. By connecting academic expertise with regional stakeholders, industry and governance structures, HI-EURECA-PRO supports the green and digital transition of heritage-related ecosystems.
The Digital Transformation Hub (DTH) is a dynamic collaboration platform developed under the HI-EURECA-PRO project to turn digital transformation into practical value for heritage, research, education, and regional innovation. Built by partners from Poland, Greece, Romania, Austria, Germany, Belgium, and Spain, the Hub connects the expertise of the EURECA-PRO Alliance with the needs of cultural, industrial, and mining heritage communities.
Our mission is to make heritage transformation more connected, more innovative, and more actionable. The DTH trives for bringing together digital tools, research capacity, training resources, living-lab activities, and collaboration opportunities to support researchers, institutions, public stakeholders, industry partners, students, and local communities working at the intersection of heritage, sustainability, and digital innovation.
A flagship feature of the portal is Funding Match AI — an AI-supported assistant designed to help users transform a research or innovation idea into a ranked list of relevant European funding opportunities. By analysing the project concept, thematic scope, keywords, TRL level, consortium profile, and programme preferences, Funding Match AI supports faster and more strategic identification of suitable calls from programmes such as Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, Erasmus+ and CEF. It is designed as a practical first step from an idea to a potential proposal pathway.
The Resources Hub provides structured access to the knowledge base and collaboration assets developed within the already completed RE-EURECA-PRO and ongoing HI-EURECA-PRO project. It includes the Laboratories database, the Equipment database, the Articles database, the Researchers database, and a dedicated section for Training materials. Together, these resources help users identify expertise, infrastructure, literature, learning content, and potential partners for joint research and innovation activities.
The News & Insights section serves as the communication voice of the DTH, offering a flexible space for HI-EURECA-PRO partners, associated institutions, and contributors to share stories, reflections, expert commentary, institutional updates, interviews, event reports, and short blog-style articles. Focused primarily on digital transformation and innovation in cultural, industrial, and mining heritage, this section also welcomes broader perspectives on digital innovation in academic, professional, and societal contexts. Through articles, opinion pieces, multimedia posts, thematic stories, and partner announcements, News & Insights supports knowledge exchange and gives visibility to emerging ideas, practices, and initiatives across the EURECA-PRO Alliance community.
Through its combination of AI tools, curated resources, training content, research infrastructure, and collaborative actions, the DTH is more than an information portal. It is a growing gateway for digital heritage transformation, joint project development, and sustainable regional impact.
